If you have been following my blog, you are aware that I am a big proponent of Chromebooks. My Chrome Can series of posts have been created to enable others to see the potential of Chromebooks as a real computer, one that can do everything traditional computers can. It is also my goal to be able to provide posts that educators will find useful. As more and more schools use Chromebooks, educators will most likely find this series of posts useful.
Google is well aware of this and has put together what they are calling the Chromebook App Hub. According to Google “Chromebooks open up a world of possibilities for learning.” The Chromebook App Hub enables educators to “Explore ideas and apps to inspire budding digital citizens, scientists, and world explorers.”
The goal of the Chromebook App Hub, according to Google, is to serve as “an online resource to help educators, administrators and developers work together to learn about Chromebook apps and activity ideas for schools.” The Chromebook App Hub is full of Idea Sparks that have been added by teachers for teachers. As Google has stated, “although apps are great, ideas from fellow educators on how to use them in the classroom are even better inspiration.” The App Hub is a fantastic place to find better ways to use Chromebooks and the awesome applications that make them so capable.
I went through the process of submitting an Idea Spark to the folks at Google Education and my Idea Spark was accepted. You can check it out here.
If you are an educator that has Chromebooks in your classroom, I highly recommend that you check out the Google Chromebook App Hub today! If you have an idea that you would like to submit to the App Hub you can do that here.
